Got this from the public library.  It has good directions and gives ways to adapt for doing it here.  Uses allspice, bay leaf, black eyed peas, cardamom, cassava (starchy root vegetable), chutney, cloves, coconut milk, cumin, curry, ginger root, peanuts, red pepper flakes, samp (dried white hominy) tamarind paste, turmeric.  What's not to like

This is really good meatloaf.  Mango chutney, raises, curry,  who knew

The only thing I've made so far is the 'meatloaf'. It's delicious.  Picture and recipie are here.

Below is a novel about a mother and her middle school age daughter who end up in South Africa as the mother does reporting for a Canadian paper she works for.  The Truth and Reconciliation Commission plays a big part in the book.  This books provides an understanding about what happened at the end of apartheid

Coming to Terms is an very recent book which reviews the work of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.  The commission This was a panel formed "not for the purpose of exacting retribution for the crimes of apartheid, but to provide some form of public accounting and to help purge the injustices of the past."  There is a whole chapter devoted to Winnie Mandela.
