Tuesday in Vienna

Jordan and I started the day by walking though an open market. Because of the shortage of buyers, we got free samples from most booths. Didn't find anything we didn't like. New to both of us were Teramisu almonds. Had to buy a bit of that

This vendor did everything including calling me Angelina Jolie to get us to buy

The stuffed red peppers in this pictures are pickeled sweet peppers stuffed with goat cheese

Next stop was Jordan's school

His favorite prof was in and was very happy to meet family of Jordan.  He wants jordan to do reasarch with him, but is waiting for funding.  Loved the guy.  Said Jordan was his best student.

On To the home of Johan Strauss. His museum is insignificant compared to motzarts.  Original music is below.  Glad I don't have to read it

Below father Johann and his three sons, the most famous is Johann.

On to the big Ferris wheel. While we were stalled at the top over 200 feet in the air, jordan looked up some stats re the wheel.  Made in 1894. The owner went bankrupt early in the 20th century. He was to tear it down, but didn't have the money so it was abandoned for quite a while. Originally it had 30 cars, now only 15. This is because of damage during WWII. Also maintainence was going on while we were riding.  None of this was information I needed.

We survived the Ferris wheel and rewarded ourselves with a kebab sandwich which did take my mind off the Ferris wheel.

Back at Stephendom we went up to where the treasures and relics. It gave us a great view if the church

We also came out right behind the organ.  I'm not sure what all the wood boxes are for.

Only 320 steps in a taught circular staircase got us up high enough to see the whole city. I love the church roof

At the top of the climb, I was a bit red in the face

We also went into the catacombs, under the cathedral, but no pictures allowed.

Had a good tour of motzarts home.  No pictures.  Did get some motzarts candy

Next we went to a Time line presentation re Austrian history.  Started with 3D film.  During the film our chairs rocked, wind blew through and the best was when we were sure rats were running behind our feet.

Enough done for one day
